Hiking to the top of Australia’s highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko is considered to be one of the most inspiring one day walks in the country. Lake Jindabyne was created when the construction of the Jindabyne dam was completed in 1967. The enormous lake holds more water than Sydney harbor creating the perfect playground for water sport adventurers.

Kosciuszko National Park is 690,000 hectares of magnificent alpine wilderness with a history in legends of mountain horsemen. It is an area of unique beauty and spirit.
The National Park is best discovered on horseback where you can visit the rolling plans, cool mountain streams, cxarpets of wildflowers and historic mountain huts that are part of the Snowy Mountains Experience.
Take the chair lift up to top of Ramshead Range and enjoy spectacular views all the way to Victoria and down to Lake Jindabyne. Once at the top you have a fantastic view of pretty Thredbo Village nestled in the green valley below. The scenic Kosciuszko Express Chairlift is 1.8km long and rises an impressive 560 vertical meters in 15 minutes. The chairlift ride takes you to the closest start point to walk to Mount Kosciuszko. The Chairlift operates throughout the year.
Chairlift tickets can be purchased from the Thredbo Sports Office located at the bottom of the chairlift.
The Snowy Hydro Visitor and Education Centre in Cooma is a state of the art visitor facility show casing the amazing story of the Snowy Mountains Scheme right through from the early construction days to the role the Scheme plays today in supplying vital electricity for south-eastern Australia and managing water releases for inland irrigation areas.
The centre houses an exhibition hall that includes photographic collection, models, exhibits and interactive displays. A series of films are available for viewing and there is a coffee shop
